Most people don't realize that residential "neighborhoods" in third world countries have no resemblance to what traditionally pops into one's mind when one thinks of a neighborhood. There are no sidewalks, no grassy front lawns, no mailboxes or flower beds. There is no such thing as curb side appeal. Everyone's home is behind lock and key. All concrete barbed wire walls and iron gates. The whole point is for your home not to be viewed from the road. And by road, I mean unpaved, gravel, pot holed dirt path.
