As a newly arrived 'spouse' with a daughter at ICS, I wanted to tell you how much your blog has resonated with me. This is a very difficult posting and yet I take heart that after 2 1/2 years, I too may look apon this posting as a highly rewarding one and one in which many delicious things can be cooked! Having done three previous postings and therefore 7 moves, I feel for you just about to undergo the moving process agsin. I hope that the upcoming move is as painless as it can be and your next posting in Jakarts also proves a happy and rewarding one. Linda
Hi Linda, thank you so much for this encouragement! I hope your daughter loves ICS. We've had a great experience with our eldest. My biggest advice is to try to embrace the beauty that is here and let go of some of your concerns. Make your home a peaceful sanctuary! The city is hard, the rest of the country is something to behold. I always felt a rejuvenated love for Ethiopia after a trip outside the city. Good luck and take care! Sara
