growing girl

Addie has grown a lot in the last month or two. Her stats at her 13 month check-up (we were late for her 12 month check-up) was 24 lbs and 31 inches. 95% for height and 75% for weight. Our chubby baby is thinning out. She's also grown out of her shoes. Her grandparents bought her adorable Crocs before we left and now she's toddling around in them.

The bottles have been put away now for a month or more, she's eating everything we eat with the exception of things which are too spicy or contain nuts. Her favorites right now are asparagus, graham crackers, rice, cheese, and olives. Addie is giving kisses. Not only to her Mom and Dad but to Lucy, her dolls, and pictures in photo albums. She dances to any music that is playing and hums along when we sing. She's climbing on and off chairs, sofas, beds, boxes, etc. She stacks blocks and is grasping lots of other basic games with her toys. She says Mama, Dada, Lucy (doesn't sound like Lucy but we know what it means), and bye-bye. Last week she had "up" mastered but she refuses now to say it. She's just stubborn. She goes to the refrigerator when she's thirsty and the pantry when she's hungry. She loves the laptop and pushes all the butons (see picture). She's really growing up before our eyes.

packages!

The Grandparent's get big kudos for the last two boxes we received! Thank you so much for thinking of us.

Kiki and Po sent our favorite brownie mix from Trader Joes (gosh I miss that place). Lucy also received Greenies so she's much happier. The moment she saw the box her tail started wagging. Addie looks adorable in her new hair barrettes. I finished Twilight by Stephenie Meyer in 3 days. I couldn't put it down.

We received a big box of reading materials for the entire family from my parents. Addie got new books and we got stacks of Smithsonian, National Geographic, and Country Living. Hurray for reading materials!

new potty

I bought a training potty for Addie last weekend. She's still too young to start potty training but I thought she can become comfortable with it between now and when she's old enough to use it. She comes in the bathroom with me anyway, now she has a potty to sit on too. She's fascinated with opening and closing the lid and putting things in the little bowl in the middle.

this weeks flowers

I have no idea what the name of these flowers are (come to think of it, I never know the names of flowers). I call them fire flowers.

Gymboree

Sunday was rainy and gray, a perfect day for indoor play. We took Addie to the Gymboree at the Manila Polo Club. This was her second time to Gymboree and she was a little more adventurous this time. She spends quite a bit of time observing everything before she decides its OK to try it on her own. We practically had the gym to ourselves so it was really fun. I took lots of pictures.

OshKosh jumper

Addie might as well have been on a runway with this little jumper on. So cute. It didn't stay on long though because like all great fashion pieces in one's wardrobe it's more for show not function.

Bath time

Addie still loves bath time. She plays in the water now with all her toys. She likes to balance the rubber ducks on the surf board and look up to me for praise when she successfully balances more than one at a time. It's funny how she already knows that if she does something correct like fit a puzzle piece correctly or get off the couch on her own she knows to look to me for praise. She's very proud of herself and loves when I acknowledge her successes. The picture below is how her hair looks after we towel dry it after her bath.
